I like beer.  I like bananas.  I like bread.  Clearly...this beer was made for me!  In all seriousness, I was a bit surprised when I laid eyes on it at the liquor store.  I enjoy fruity beers but I was a little wary of the banana flavor being somewhat overpowering.  It wasn't!   When I opened the beer, there was an initial pungent fruity smell that wafted up into my nose - a smell that resembled the taste of the banana flavored candy "Runts."  Needless to say, it smelled delicious.  After the smell dissipated, I tasted the beer.  The taste wasn't overpowered with banana in the least bit and I was actually left with a nice light malty taste on my tongue.  I would definitely purchase this beer again.

Dragonhead Stout. For the Viking in you.

  • So I have tried beers on more than one occasion based solely on the bottle alone. In this case that is entirely true. With dreams of becoming a viking and maybe even getting on one of those awesome ships I figured the $5.99 price tag was worth the gamble. All kidding aside this is a very tasty stout that I would definitely pick up again but I am afraid I may have to try their others first.
